Very true. Everyone has a different experience with different products. I should have added "IMO" after my sub-par comment. I really should knock either one though, since they are super budget products. Williams is dirt cheap and KissMyFace is very affordable (when bought on sale).

I am prepared to take on the challenge. I'm not sure "sub-par" is the best definition though, because that's tough to establish and very personal. How about "low-price" vs "high-price" soap.cream combos? For example, Arko soap teamed up with Proraso cream vs. Mitchell's and Castle Forbes?

I agree, super lather is something special. My particular favorite right now is a Williams puck and KissMyFace fragrance free cream. They are both sub-par alone, but when brought together they blow away virtually everything I have tried in "monoshave" form as you call it. Now my question is whether superior soap and superior cream mixed together would build 'extreme lather'? :)
