SOTD – What an amazing blade!

After finishing my week on the excellent Wilkinson Sword White Label blade I returned to the Treet Blue Special carbon for a few days of R&R. Man, that’s one spectacular blade – every time I come back to it, its benchmark status is reaffirmed. I used a superlather made from Old Vulfix Sandalwood shave cream and the Cristallo unscented stick from Razorandbrush.com, worked up with the wonderfully scrubby Simpson Chubby #2. The Treet sliced through the beard with barely a sound…sharp and smooth beyond belief. If there were ever a product that challenges the price/value relationship, the Treet is it! At about a dime a piece I can afford a fresh blade each day without guilt. I even actually enjoy the ritual of loading it into the razor every day, with its shiny black paint job and glistening edges….and what a shave! Finish was with the alum block and Trumper’s Coral Skin Food, followed by a splash of Aqua Velva.

  1. And have you noticed how, if you pull the outer wrapper free from the glued point and keep pulling it off, around the razor, it takes off the inner wrapper as well. Very pleasant.

  2. Yes, I noticed it after you mentioned it on your review. The whole thing just seems so well though out. That’s why I couldn’t believe that the Treet Dura Sharp carbon came from the same company…it was, for me, a very poor blade. I noticed that you seemed to get a pretty decent shave from it…obviously YMMV once again reaffirmed!
