A couple days ago I wrote about “The Greek Plan”, our feeding regime for Asta the Briard. A number of readers asked what a typical day might look like so I thought I would post a daily “Asta Watch” for a few days, just to give some examples of how feeding human food to a dog might work.
This morning I discovered some asparagus I bought a few days ago, and it was starting to look a little ripe, so….I made a delicious asparagus fritatta for our breakfast: olive oil, sauteed onion, steamed asparagus, eggs, and a little Regianno cheese…served with whole grain toast. Unfortunately, my wife woke up with a headache and had no appetite for breakfast…just Greek coffee. So, Asta enjoyed my wife’s share of a wonderfully tasty and nutritious breakfast…no waste, no fuss.
