SOTD – Treet relief

An excellent pseudo-Method shave today from the Marius Fabre Le Cube, combined this time with the Old Vulfix Sandalwood cream as the shaving paste. As before, Le Cube was also shampoo, face and body wash as well as “slag” maker. The highlight of the shave was a fresh Treet Blue Special “Batman” blade – sleek black with glistening edges – a fantastic blade…the blade by which all others are measured, at any price! I think I went a little crazy with the water though, as my cutting mix started to really thin out by the third pass. Pretty smooth nevertheless, but at times the blade felt a little dangerously close to the skin. The Treet provides such an outstanding balance between sharpness, smoothness, and feedback, that it is as close to “perfect” as I can imagine a blade. No nicks, no cuts, EVER! I fell like the guy in those ’70’s commercials….”I liked the product so much…I bought the company!”

Finish was with The GR (Balm and Cream) – absolutely de rigeur these days as the temperature has slipped below zero degrees Celsius and it is really, really dry in the house despite three big humidifiers. A splash of Jade East to bring me back to young adulthood and I’m ready for dinner at Mr. Italo’s and our weekly game of Liverpool (does the term Old Fart mean anything to you?).
