POTD – Getting old ain’t funny!

We had dinner last night with Mr. & Mrs. Italo, whereupon I congratulated him on his brilliant series of the Hasidim wedding he attended last week, one picture of which I posted yesterday, entitled “Father of the bride”. My congratulations included praise for the excellence of the Leica lens he used, with its outstanding “bokeh” – the quality of the out-of-focus part of the photo, which is so important in establishing the three-dimensional look of a great film image. “Putz!” said Mr. Italo….”it was your lens!” I had completely forgotten that I had lent him my Leica Summilux 35/1.4 a few days earlier, because of its exceptionally wide opening, which he knew he would need in the low-light surroundings of the wedding hall. Man, getting old isn’t funny!
