I followed up on my earlier promise to try some pure glycerin for the touch-up pass instead of TSS or other oil. I had this idea because glycerin on its own is extremely slippery, so …why not give it a go?

Bad idea. The glycerin evaporated/absorbed/washed off way too quickly to be of any use and I had to rinse off and use some TSS. Oh, well, as Thomas Edison is reputed to have said: “I haven’t failed…I’ve simply discovered 10,000 ways that don’t work”.
