SOTD – J’en reviens pas!

Loosely translated from the French, that means “I can’t get over it”! What a shave today! Institut Karite Shave Soap solo, lathered up with my Plisson European White badger brush (in keeping with the French theme), and the two-day-old Gillette 7 O’Clock blade from Russia (French Russia!). It goes to show you how people react differently to the same brand of blade…while Leisureguy has abandoned the 7 O’Clock as too sharp and nick-prone, I found that it got better on the second go, still very sharp but just a shade smoother. No nicks, no cuts, just a solid 9.8 shave.

The finishing pass was with a strange new oil I found at the pharmacy: Cromwell & Cruthers Sensitive Skin Shaving Oil. Dirt cheap too…$5 for 15 ml. (vs. $15 for the same amount of Total Shave Solution). All natural ingredients:

  • Sandalwood Oil, Safflower Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Sunflower Oil, Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Aloe, Menthol, Vitamin E Acetate.
