Keeping my promise to try each of the Institut Karite shave products “solo”, today I used the cream and my three-day-old Gillette 7 O’Clock blade. The cream was very good, but strangely not as good as the soap alone a few days ago. Of course, together these two products, soap and cream, make for a fantastic superlather….perhaps the best ever.

The 7 O’Clock dragged a little and is clearly at the end of its useful life for me. It could probably give another couple of shaves if you are a little more tolerant than I. With another try of the Cromwell and Cruthers shave oil for the finishing pass, I managed to get a solid 9.5 shave, and very pleasant too.
