Just on the tail of my recent post about Locus-of-Control and its impact on weight control comes this very interesting study reviewed by Brian Wansink, PhD, head of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, and Director of the Cornell University Food and Brand Lab. In a nutshell, the study found that “the heaviest people tended to be the ones who relied on external cues to tell them when to stop eating”. People who avoided weight gain were those who were “tuned in” to their body’s internal cues for fullness and satisfaction. You can read the review here.
