I’m not one for gimmicks (stop snickering!), but recently I fell for Mr. Italo’s suggestion that I get a Nespresso coffee maker using the single-use cartridges that come in a multitude of different coffee blends. I really bought it on a lark..after all, if it’s good enough for a coffee maven like Mr. Italo, who am I to argue?

This thing is terrible! Well, no its actually wonderful…but we’re blowing through about 10-12 cartridges a day, and at $0.58 each , its starting to add up. Do the math: 12 X 365 X 0.58 = $2540.40 per year! And they say my shaving habit is expensive! But the coffee….ohhh…the coffee! Expresso with a thick crema that few baristas can even hope to emulate.
