Today was my second try with a new Treet Classic carbon steel blade. This is supposed to be the sister to the benchmark Treet Blue Special, but if it is….it’s not the prettier, smarter one (YMMV). Don’t get me wrong…this is a very good blade…on a par with Astra, Zorrick, or even Merkur. But its nowhere near as sharp or smooth as the Treet “Batman” blade….a result I suspect, of the different coatings used on the two blades; the Treet Blue Special has that shiny black finish that may well contribute to a different feel and performance.

I once again used the “ultimate superlather”: l’Occitane’s shave soap and cream combo, applied with the giant Shavemaster brush. The result after the finishing pass with the CADE oil was a smooth, virtually EHM shave…complemented by a few spritzes of Hydrolast Tonic and some Hydrolast Conditioner plus a splash of Jade East.
