SOTD – MItchell’s Wool-Fat Bath Bar

The Mitchell’s Wool-Fat Shaving Soap is one of my all-time favorites…the smell is unforgettable. I’ve been using a Mitchell’s Bath Bar in the shower since last week and I noticed that it gets very soft, very quickly once exposed to the water and the heat of the shower. So I decided to try shaving with it as part of a superlather, partnered up with a great lanolin shave cream, the Musgo Real from Portugal. My instinct was proven right on! Using my vintage Simpson #10, I was able to generate one of the richest, thickest lathers ever! A fresh Treet Blue Special blade in the E.J. Loxley proved the perfect complement, effortlessly slicing off the two-day growth and leaving pure EHM after the final “gloss” pass with the TSS oil. A solid 9.8 shave.

And in anticipation of the imminent Spring, finish with a few drops of Trumpers Coral Skin Food. Fantastic start to the day.
