This time I took the Electra out for a serious ride over to Mr. Italo’s house for a Sunday brunch (his birthday). A 40 minute ride one-way in a grueling headwind. Once again, the bike was very smooth and comfortable; absorbing even Montreal’s chicken-sized potholes with ease. With the upright position and a headwind it was quite a workout, but very satisfying in the end. I got to my destination and enjoyed a very fine meal….guilt-free, having worked for my lunch! The menu:
- Italian bresaola on a bed of arugula;
- Smoked salmon;
- Tuna salad;
- Egg salad;
- Bagels;
- Cream cheese;
- Pickles;
- Fresh strawberries and grapes
- Apple pie;
- Greek bougatsa (custard turnovers);
- Retsina (Greek wine)
- Nespresso.
Not your usual brunch…this is after all Mr. & Mrs. Italo’s…a place of simple tastes…where only the very best will do!
