I recently bought some Gold Dachs shaving soap from an e-vendor at Fendrihan.com. Leisureguy gave a heads-up about this vendor yesterday and I revisited the site to see if I could buy some refills for the Gold Dachs tin. I noticed that refills weren’t available so I sent a querie as follows:
“I recently purchased Gold Dachs shave soap from you and really love it. Do you have refills for the aluminum container? It seems a shame to throw out a perfectly good (and obviously expensive) container when a refill would be a good alternative both cost and environment-wise. Classicshaving.com sells the Rivivage refills that I am assured are identical to the Gold Dachs (and made by them), at a very attractive price, especially in the 3-pack.”
Here’s the reply from Alfred at Fendrihan:
“Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, I do not carry the Gold-Dachs refills. Yes, Rivivage is the same soap and can be found at a good price. Also, Gold Dachs refills can also be found at other vendors (emspalce).”
Wow! How refreshing….a straight and honest answer and a link to a competitor who can provide the product!! This is old-fashioned service that we don’t see too often these days. Regular readers may remember that I often write on business excellence issues since I happen to work as a turnaround consultant for troubled organizations. I can’t say this often enough: Trouble always starts when a company gets too far from its customers and fails to listen to what they’re saying and to treat them in a fair and open manner.
Kudos to Fendrihan; I will definitely buy from them again.
P.S. Just get the refills, so I can buy them from you!!
