Today’s shave was thoroughly unsatisfying…my fault really, I pushed the envelope of simplicity too far by choosing to use just the CADE oil and the Schick ST disposable (on its second day). The poor Schick struggled, and I found myself repeatedly going over the same spots trying to reduce the stubble. In the end, a reasonably smooth result was attained, but there was no pleasure in it at all. No alum block either. The only consolation was the CADE A.S. Balm which impresses me more and more each day. Overall, a 7.0 shave in the “new” numbers.

Here’s what I want to hear” Charles, the nice chap at QED fedexed me a chocolate mocha shave stick , and it was fantastic”. ” Always wanted to try a straight again and this morning the concierge at my hotel brought up the box from Lynn at Straight Razor Designs, Lynn was nice enough to hone up a Dovo and with the DR Harris shave stick from the same box I had a nice morning shave.” ” Bernd from Shavemac fedexed a nice brush, scuttle and Tabac soap stick , nice shave before the breakfast buffet”. Thats more like it! You know what Nietsche said about life and shaving” All suffering is meaningless”. True ,so why suffer? I gotta think even with TSA guidelines guys can up with a shave thats worth doing , don’t ya think.

I agree….and I would do it, but…how the hell do I get the stuff home afterwards….or maybe just pass it on to one of the homeless guys on the park bench in front of the Hyatt? But, you are right, this is no way to live!
