After shaving for a week with a disposable cartridge razor while on vacation in Cuba (carry-on luggage only remember – no DE blades allowed) it has been an intense pleasure to get back to DE shaving and to remember exactly why we do this. Since I came back with a brutal chest cold and bronchitis I stayed home last week during our record-breaking 7-day streak at -20C. I only shaved twice during this time, but it was magnificent. The E.J. Chatsworth loaded first with a Bolzano and then a Big Ben blade, the Dan Capshaw brush, and the Gold Dachs Spezial shave soap, produced magnificent shaves that left my face feeling really clean and buff. We can only know Yin by knowing Yang.
