I was researching Germany’s Angela Merkel earlier this morning for my previous post and came across a terrific link to a Photoshop makeover of Mrs. Merkel. Really worth a look. Makes you think about the images you see in magazines, web sites, posters, etc. Just about every photographer uses Photoshop these days, some of us for very basic tasks such as managing contrast, shadows and highlights, etc., and others for much more pernicious “image control”. The Merkel Makeover really shows how easy it is to manipulate reality.
If you reverse the process you get Paris Hilton aging. It goes to show that you can’t immediately believe anything you see in magazines today.
