This is my favorite bookshelf in the massive built-in bookcase that lines one wall of my living room. It contains a variety of artifacts accumulated from various monasteries on Mount Athos, as well as some from other venues. It also contains many of my clinical texts. I like this bookshelf because of the dichotomy of belief systems that it represents (a dichotomy that escapes me by the way since I think that science and spirituality/religion simply represent different epistemological and cosmological ways of knowledge that one can simultaneously entertain).
Taken with the Leica M8.2 and the Elamrit 2.8/28 lens, hand-held at 1/24 sec and 2500 ISO.
Certainly a picture that very effectively says a lot about your interest in science, sprituality, etc.

It’s a whole specialty of Psychology today, called “Transpersonal Psychology”…how people seek transcendent meaning in their lives, i.e. a sense of continuity and purpose.
