We began a bathroom (mine) renovation project early this year and I had to move most of my shaving gear to a cabinet and some drawers in the adjoining bedroom. Funny how such a small shift in accessibility affects your habits and outlook.

I chose a few favorite things to put in the small remaining cabinet in the bathroom and settled in with the plan to move to a more Spartan approach to shaving. I have written several times over these last few months how my shaving has acquired an almost Zen-like simplicity, efficiency, and speed. Yet, much of the gourmet pleasure has also gone with it. I can’t say that I look forward to my shave with the same gusto and enthusiasm I had in the past, and that is reflected in the paucity of shave posts I’ve been writing.

Well….I’m Baaaaackkk! The renovation is [almost] completed, and I must thank the Kommandant for spearheading the change. It looks great and the new cabinets have room for almost all my stuff (after throwing out and giving away about a third!).
