Vetiver is a tropical grass native to India, with an earthy, smoky scent which I have compared in the past to a mixture of lawn and stale cigarettes. Appetizing, isn’t it? Well, let me tell you, it makes for one Helluva shave cream fragrance! It ranks among my top five shave cream scents of all time, and I particularly like the rendition in the Cyril R. Salter brand.
Despite being in a rush to get out of the house this morning for a doctor’s appointment, I took the time for a gourmet shave with the vetiver shave cream and another shot at the Schick Injector Type O with a twin blade. The Dan Capshaw brush produced its usual copious lather and the triple play of cream, brush, and razor produced an amazingly smooth shave.
If you’re considering the transition from a cartridge razor to a DE, may I suggest a Schick injector as a very pleasant bridge that you will inevitably come back to even once you become a confirmed DE aficionado.
