Travel shaving

Gourmet travel shaving for shower shavers is a nightmare. I long ago gave up the notion of the leisurely, sensual shave when traveling. Usually, there are others waiting for the bathroom, or the shower stall itself is poorly configured to hold the various paraphernalia indigenous to the gourmet shave.  Frankly, trying to enjoy shaving with a plastic shower curtain stuck to my glutes is hardly an inspiring  image.

For this trip, I took the Simpson Wee Scot brush – a little powerhouse for generating lather, I might add – and a small Nalgene tub of J.M. Fraser classic shave cream….plus a, dare I say it, Gillette Fusion razor. The combo works amazingly well, allowing me to get in and out of the shower in record time while still enjoying a reasonably pleasant shave. Two quick passes (if you can call them that…the Fusion naturally breaks all directional boundaries) and I’m done….with a smooth (if not exfoliated) face to boot.
