Well, it finally happened…I hit on a sub-par Treet Blue Special blade. The mystique is broken. And maybe that’s a good thing. Still, using my protocol described yesterday, I managed a solid 9.5 shave, although I could feel the blade struggling in places, as if it were gliding over the whiskers rather than cutting them. This is not an unusual occurrence for any DE blade, but the Treet had assumed almost mythical status in my mind for its consistency.
And I used a fantastic combination of high-end products for the superlather…the D.R. Harris Shaving Stick (Almond) plus The GR Unscented Shave Cream, worked up with the Plisson European White brush.
