Walking through the Terra Cotta nature preserve yesterday, I had my new Fuji X-Pro1 slung on my chest. A family passed us; the increasingly rare nuclear one with an actual Dad, Mom, and kids (rapidly becoming an endangered species, which we’ll eventually only find on National Geographic specials). As they passed us on the trail, I heard the man say to his wife: “Did you see the old Leica that guy was carrying?”. I had to laugh, the Fuji is the latest state-of-the-art digital rangefinder-style camera on the market, released about three weeks ago. But the similarity is both inescapable and purposeful, I’m sure.

My wife laughed when I recounted this to her. “Are you sure he didn’t say: ‘Did you see the old guy with the Leica?’, she asked me.
