Thanks to Leisureguy, an interesting article in the New York Times by Paul Krugman, on the real cause of the current crisis in Greece and Europe. Of course, he hits it right on the head…you can’t have a common monetary system without a common government, especially with such culturally divergent value systems.

“I’d say that’s pretty accurate. But the corruption is massive, and even more massive in Italy and perhaps Spain. The corruption and tax-paying go hand-in-hand… one is willing to pay taxes if you know the majority will be stolen. I sure wouldn’t.
