The gin world has been rocked in recent years by a slew of really outstanding super-premium gins; Hendricks from Scotland being one of the most prominent and commanding a 30-40% premium over conventional good quality gins such as Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire.

Now comes, Ungava gin, made with Arctic botanicals from Canada’s north. My wife bought a bottle yesterday, which we will sample in Ungava martinis during Saturday card-night. Also on the menu (not): Seal-meat salami, blubber biscuits, and walrus wieners. Will let you know.
