My old friend (40 years) and photography mentor, Philip Lim, just sent me a link to his brother James’ photo site. Before retiring two years ago, Philip spent the last 35 years as professor of photography at the Province’s largest CEGEP (junior college). Unlike the old adage about those who can and those who teach, Philip is a spectacular artist in addition to a brilliant teacher beloved by his students – my wife and I went on a photo tour of New York City with Philip and a busload of his students a few years ago.
I’ve met James a couple of times, and knew he was into photography, but not professionally. Philip informs me that James has once again taken up the camera…with amazing results. It must be in the genes. Check out his work, here. I’m very impressed by what he does with simple objects and light.
