One of the great benefits of having a young retired friend like Mr. Dario is that he has become my de facto coolness scout on the internet. This makes my blogging infinitely easier in that I have a steady source of new and exciting stuff to write about; stuff I wouldn’t have the time to discover since I still have to work to pay the bills.
Case in point: Theo Jansen’s Strandbeests. Truly amazing, giant “creatures” built by the Dutch artist over more than 20 years, and powered by Holland’s winds. As the artist says: Building these things gives one a sense of awe over what it took to create life on earth.
