This year is the 100th anniversary of the City of Pointe-Claire, where we live. It’s a terrific town, a major suburb of Montreal, about 20 minutes from downtown with light traffic. A very well run city, it has consistently ranked in the top five cities in Canada to live (usually in the #1 or #2 spot).
My wife is a very accomplished weaver and a member of the Lakeshore Weavers Guild. In tribute to the city’s 100th anniversary, the weavers decided to design an official tartan and have it certified in Scotland. Their tartan was accepted (see design and certificate below).
My Christmas present today is the first scarf to roll off the loom. The weavers are making a number of scarves that the City will give to visiting dignitaries in the future….but I’ve got the “first edition”!
